Food For Thought
‘Food for Thought’ is a unique mentoring programme for young people where they learn cooking skills and receive mentoring from a top working professional at the same time.
The recipe of young people, working professionals, food, cooking and mentoring creates a dish that is unlike any other. Young people involved in our programmes get the opportunity to take part in Food for Thought and receive some bespoke mentoring from some of our partners.
We also run Food for Thought sessions for other youth projects. If you would like us to organise one for a group of young people you work with, please get in touch by emailing info@leadersincommunity.org
Become a Mentor
Disadvantaged young people may not know that there are a vast range of different roles, sectors and job opportunities that they could get involved in. They may also not have the insider knowledge or the networks to help them plan their education and career.
To broaden their horizons, we are looking for volunteers to work with young people in an informal social setting so that they will be comfortable building relationships with working professionals to support them on their education and career journey. If you:
- work for an organisation or run your own business
- would like to help a young person develop and widen their career knowledge and prospects
- enjoy cooking and eating with others
Why not mentor a young person whilst you ‘break bread’ by cooking and eating together.
